One of the things to consider when planning your trip is the airport transfer. Most airports around the world including Entebbe airport in Uganda are far from the major cities or towns. Therefore you find you’re required to use a taxicab to reach another destination.
EBB airstrip, is the main gateway to the pearl of Africa. All planes from various parts of the world, land at this facility. It is about 47 kilometers from Kampala, the nation’s capital.
If you are one of those who wish to visit Uganda, make sure to plan for a successful airport transfer from Entebbe. Here are the tips for you.
Ask for a quote
The first thing to ask for is the quotation of transport fee for your trip. Know all that is included in the shared price like waiting time, parking and toll fees, night surcharge, luggage, and gratuities. Some companies don’t indicate includes and exclude. Don’t hesitate to ask everything. You are free to negotiate.
Specify the type of Car
While indicating the pickup or drop-off information, also include and specify the type of car you need for your trip. Most operators use minivans like Toyota Noah, Legius, and saloon cars like Toyota Premio, Wish, Ipsum, Raum, and more. If you need executive airport transfer service, there is a Land Cruiser V8, Range Rover, Ford, Jeep, Harrier, and more for you.
If the quote and other terms are favorable, you can go on and reserve the taxi service in advance. Ask for a confirmation note such that you have evidence in case of anything.
Ask for all details
Make sure to know all that is required for an airport transfer in Uganda including the terms and conditions, cars used, taxi fares, how to meet the driver, add-on services available, and the mode of payment.
Share your travel details
The main details needed include your names, flight time, and arrival date. If possible you can even share the airline company. Be sure to provide correct details. Copy as it is indicated on the air ticket.
Keep in touch with the reservationist. It is good to hear from him or her two days before your arrival day. You can send an email to remind and double confirm your booking. Always give updates in case of any changes to your travel plans or flight delay. If not email, you can text via WhatsApp. Don’t forget to ask the booking agent his or her local phone number.
Follow the directives
The booking agent will guide you on how to locate the driver. Please follow the directions. It is usually like this. When you move out of the terminal, look for a raised poster that showcases your name. In case the person isn’t available, contact the reservation agent by phone call or text to sort out the issue.
Turn on your Phone
Charge your phone and put it on when you arrive at Entebbe international airport. In case you fail to locate the driver, you can use your phone to contact the person who reserved your taxicab. If you don’t have an internet connection, visit one of the kiosks at the airport and ask the attendant to help you call the person responsible for your pick up.
