Lugazi is popularly known as a sugar cane growing area located in the central part of Uganda, a few kilometers from Jinja, the notable city in the Busoga region.

This town sits along Kampala – Jinja highway. It is home to the Meta Group, a sugar manufacturing company in Uganda, and Tembo steel company.

It is about 93 kilometers from Entebbe to this area and it takes about 2-3 hours to get there by car. The time taken depends on traffic along the way and the speed used. This place is set between Mukono and Jinja, some of Uganda’s prominent spots.
