Entebbe Airport hits New Record of Passenger Traffic
Being the main international Airport for Uganda, it is not hard to understand why this aviation hub welcomes a number of passengers from various parts of the world daily. Located along the shores of Lake Victoria in Kitaasa, this facility is the starting point for those who fancy to see Uganda and its hidden treasures.
Its recent renovation and upgrade including construction of new arrival and departures terminal puts it in a position as of the best Airports in the East African region.
Several airlines operates flights to and from Entebbe Airport to other parts of the world. There are new international airline operators coming on board.
The flag carrier “Uganda Airlines” is also extending its services to multiple countries through securing different routes. The newly established is the Entebbe to London Gatwick Airport direct route.
All these new achievements are the main reason why EBB is reporting an increase in the passenger traffic. According to results produced by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority. The customs handled 116,507 arrivals and 126,582 departures in August 2025. This brings the total number of international passengers to 243,089, a figure that surpasses the total number recorded in July.
Officials from UCAA confirmed that sports tourism, concerts and conferences contributed a lot to the new figure of passengers recorded. Moreover, there are expecting more passengers to use Entebbe Airport on their journeys to and from abroad.
The increase in the number of Airport users is a major beneficiary to many service providers at the Airport including taxicab drivers, forex outlets, cargo handling companies and eateries.
